Practical Life Exercises
These encompass foundational movements and initial activities, such as classroom etiquette and the enhancement of fine motor skills – including pouring, transferring, sweeping, opening and closing, self-care, environmental stewardship, social skill development, and practicing grace and courtesy.
Sensorial Education
This approach ignites a child’s senses – taste, touch, smell, sight, and hearing – empowering them to fully engage with and comprehend their environment. Through dynamic activities, children explore objects, colors, textures, flavors, numbers, and real-life situations.
Mathematics
In teaching mathematics in Montessori schools in Lagos – and all over the world – pupils are guided to use materials such as number rods, sandpaper numerals, spindle boxes, golden beads, materials and sequence operations. Your child will have the same opportunity in Treasure Stars School, to use mathematical materials to compute simple addition, subtraction, division and multiplication of numbers.
Language
This involves the development of written expression, reading, writing, oral and grammar of your child. Your child’s basic skills in writing and reading will be developed through the use of sandpaper and large movable alphabet.
